About me
I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), advised by Prof. David E. Keyes. I received my B.Eng. in Electronics Engineering from Xidian University, China, in 2021.
My research focuses on rethinking classical numerical algorithms for modern heterogeneous architectures. I study the co-design of numerical methods — including sparse factorizations and finite element discretizations — alongside algorithmic scheduling and GPU architecture, with the goal of exposing and exploiting mathematical structure under extreme parallelism. Rather than treating hardware constraints as obstacles, I use them as a lens to investigate how sparsity, numerical stability, and task granularity must be reformulated when traditional CPU-centric assumptions no longer hold. This perspective has led to contributions spanning scientific computing and machine learning systems, with publications at SC, NeurIPS, ICML, ICS, and ECCV, and recognition as a Gordon Bell Prize Finalist at SC’24.
I have deep expertise in NVIDIA GPU architecture and have made open-source contributions to projects including CUTLASS and PyTorch. I have held research positions at NVIDIA Research, ETH Zürich (HiPEAC Grant), Baidu (ERNIE Star), University of Edinburgh, and MEGVII Inc.
